How to create a custom avatar for Instagram
There are two ways to create a 3D avatar on Instagram: from the account settings menu or the stories section. However, the latter is the simplest. Just follow these steps:
- Select the video or image you are going to publish in your story.
- Tap the sticker icon in the top menu.
- Look for the avatar button (it is to the right of the GIF button).
- Tap the icon to open the editor.
Now, it is time to get creative, as the editor includes hundreds of elements to let us create unique avatars. You can change your hair, skin tone, facial features, makeup, accessories, clothing, eye shape and color, and much more. The possibilities are virtually unlimited.
Once you are satisfied with the result, all you have to do is tap the Done button. Next, Instagram will ask us if we want to synchronize our avatar with our Facebook account. After choosing the desired option, the platform will create a pack of custom stickers with our avatar.
How to add your avatar to your stories and posts
After creating our avatar, it is very easy to include it in our stories. Just repeat the previous steps. Only this time, instead of opening the editor, we will see our collection of custom stickers. These stickers are no different from those already available, which means you can freely change their size, position, and rotation. In addition, we can edit them by tapping on the corresponding option.
Using avatars in posts is somewhat more complicated, as there is no direct option to include custom stickers on photos or reels. At least for now. Therefore, if we want to put our 3D avatar on Instagram posts, we will need some basic photo editing skills.
